Step 1. |
Join the GCRRA. We are a growing
community of people who feel strongly about maintaining the historic
diversity of publicly available professionally-outfitted Grand Canyon
river trip opportunities now and in the future. Please visit our
membership page to join us. Once
you become a member, you will receive e-mail news bulletins and
action alerts on all Colorado River public access issues.
|
Step 2. |
Stay Informed. In today's world,
identifying the truth about complex issues is often not easy. GCRRA
is an independent group dedicated to providing accurate, independently
verifiable objective information about all Grand Canyon river access
issues. Please visit our River Access
Issues and Resource Materials pages
for more about the current situation and what is at stake.
|
Step 3. |
Write a letter. The CRMP public
comment process on the park's draft Environmental Impact Statement
has ended. However, you can still share your thoughts wiith your
congressman, the National Park Service Director, and your local
newspaper. Go here for contact information
and for tips on how to write a powerful letter.
|
Step 4. |
Share what your river trip meant to you.
We want to hear from you! Send us a letter to share your thoughts
and feelings about what your professionally-outfitted river trip
meant to you and your family. Would you have been able to do your
trip without the aid of an outfitter or the particular trip option
you selected? Have a look at our Community
page to hear about other folks are saying.
|
Step 5. |
Start a GCRRA chapter in your area.
GCRRA is a national group with local and
regional chapters. Chapter activities are organized by their
local leaders. Such activities might include conducting GCRRA membership
drives, holding meetings or workshops, initiating local letter-writing
campaigns, or meeting with editorial boards or your congressman
and senator. Additionally, GCRRA chapter presidents serve on the
GCRRA Advisory Committee that assists the Board of Directors. |
